Concert band program

The co-curricular Music program at Cronulla High School caters for musicians of all ages, abilities and interests, and provides opportunities for students to share music in a friendly and supportive environment. The CAPA staff remain committed to offering a variety of instrumental and vocal ensembles that will provide students with the opportunity to develop their musical skills and confidence.

Students from our programs are regularly selected to participate in prestigious ensembles and music camps including the State Schools Symphonic Wind Orchestra, State Music Camps, Sydney Southeast Symphonic Winds, and the Schools Spectacular, representing Cronulla High School at metropolitan, regional and state levels.

Students are also given the opportunity to audition for our Performing Arts Tours. In the past we have toured Queensland (2014), Los Angeles (2016), where performance venues included Disneyland, Hollywood Boulevard, and Universal Studios, and New York (2018).

Cronulla High School Drumline

The Cronulla High School Drumline is an ensemble that caters to all levels of musical ability. The school has a full set of marching snares and offers a Drumline for all students from Year 7 to Year 12. The repertoire is arranged specifically for the ensemble, to develop the students’ snare rudiments, foster their individual growth, and allow them to play a valuable musical role. The Drumline is a regular feature at formal assemblies and school events.

The Drumline will be directed by Shelley Morton for 2024. Rehearsal time to be confirmed. Please see Mr Tennikoff for more information.

Instrumental Tuition Program

Tuition at Cronulla High School is run by qualified and experienced tutors, and takes place weekly during the school day on a rotating basis to ensure students don’t miss the same classes each fortnight. Any student interested in having private tuition on guitar or for vocals, please visit the CAPA staffroom to collect a tuition T&C form. Lessons cater to all students from beginners to advanced, and it is never too late to start!
